York is a picture perfect city in the North of England. This walled city is steeped in history with Roman origins and a viking past. Modern day York has a vibrant, festival feel to it, with street performers, indie shops and eateries, and events all year round. Situated bang in the middle of London and Edinburgh, York is the perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding ceremony or city elopement.
Why choose York Registry office
If you’re planning an intimate wedding with just your nearest and dearest present, and you want jawdroppingly stunning photographs, then feast your eyes on this gorgeous gallery. The ceremony space in the Bootham Suite is light, airy and will comfortably seat around 40 guests.
It opens out into the gardens, which are available for use for the family and group photographs. HOWEVER, I would always recommend allocating time to head into York for more photos around this stunning city. Keep reading for more info on the perfect photography locations in York.
The York museum gardens are a 5 minute walk from the registry office, so this is where Danielle, Lee and I headed for their couples photoshoot. Danielle had explained when booking that Lee is very camera shy, not that you’d have known it from these photos! And on a beautiful sunny, Sunday afternoon in York, the light was beautiful and the tourists plentiful. But again, you’d never have known it from these images.
We said our goodbye’s and I left the happy couple to carry on the celebrations with their family.
If you are also camera shy and looking for a low key but beautiful wedding option, then a York city wedding could be for you. Contact me if you’d like to chat about me photographing it!
