The Oakwood at Ryther
I WISH this had been a wedding venue when I got married! A stunning modern barn wedding venue in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, this venue was custom built for the perfect wedding experience. Luxury accommodation for up to 33 guests, with two stunning barns so your ceremony and wedding breakfast happen in separate spaces (no getting turfed out so the venue can turn your room around – yay!) Oh and this venue only offers 2 weddings per week and it’s exclusively yours for three whole days so you can chill out the day before and after!

What i loved about this colour palette was that it didn’t scream autumn with oranges and terracottas, it was a much gentler nod to this stunning season. The bridesmaids wore stunning multiway dresses. But don’t just take it from me – feast your eyes on their stunning gallery…
Why I love photographing Oakwood at Ryther weddings
The beautiful grounds look gorgeous all year round, and there’s a tonne of different backdrops for your family and couple photos, without anyone having to walk far! I want you to enjoy your drinks reception too, and never want to be that photographer who takes the Bride & Groom off for hours for their couple portraits. 20 minutes max with me, and in the summer, another 10 minutes after dinner is plenty.

WE LOVE HANNAH!
From first meeting at a wedding fayre, Hannah had this calm, kind energy – qualities that really make you feel supported in your wedding planning and on the day.
We had a pre-wedding shoot to help ease any nerves about posing for photos. We came away from that feeling even more sure of our decision to have Hannah as our photographer, as well as some beautiful photos on Otley Chevin.
Hannah kept us in the loop and was organised with emails and messages in the lead up. On the wedding morning, it was like having another friend in the room helping keep things calm.
Our guests saw Hannah as an extra member of the wedding party for the way she blended in and had good rapport with everyone. Hannah captured both candid, natural moments as well as asking guests if they would like photos taken so we have a fabulous range of photos and people to see in our album.
What we love most is how she captured just how happy the day felt! Even when we were so wrapped up in each other in the ceremony and the speeches, it’s so good to see the moments from our guests and see how much they were enjoying the day too!
We’ve come away from our day with the most beautiful photos and also someone we consider a friend and a big part of our day.
