Bubblegum pinks, 90’s vibes and fun wedding photograohy.

Fun Wedding Photography. What’s that all about then?

There are SO many styles of wedding photography. And often couples ask me what my style is, fully expecting me to say “documentary” (because that’s what most photographers do say!)

How I’d actually describe my style is fun wedding photography! I love to bring a unique mix of vibrancy, fun and colour to your wedding gallery!

I want my photography to really show off your personalities. I’m all about the laughter and capturing moments that are a bit silly and totally between you. I love capturing your belly laughs and secret smiles, and creating photos that will make you belly laugh all over again when you see them.

So without further ado, here are my 3 top tips for fun wedding photography.

1. Choose a fun and colourful photographer!

Well duh, I know this sounds super obvious. But as someone who loves to use tonnes of colour in her fun wedding photography style, I’m constantly amazed by the amount that don’t. It’s all personal preference of course, and I’m not saying my style is right for everyone. In fact, it definitely isn’t!

Thankfully for me though, the majority of my couple do book me because they can see I’m a fun and colourful wedding photographer. And they know that I’ll put them at ease too.

Editing style is super important when it comes to colour – make sure you LOVE the editing style of your chosen photographer.

2. Choose a venue and suppliers that reflect your personalities

Weddings can be HOWEVER you want them to be these days! This shoot was in Picture House Social, Sheffield, which as an incredible event space with it’s own cinema, a ping pong room and games hall. And if a venue takes your fancy but isn’t licensed for legal marriage, hire a celebrant. (You can do the legal bit, low key in a registry office!) It really is more important, that you have the wedding you want, wouldn’t you agree?

Here, Meg Senior Celebrant conducted a heartfelt and personalised ceremony, signed and sealed with a shot of Tequila! A celebrant led ceremony will always be all about YOU. And a fun and colourful wedding photographer will LOVE you for hiring a celebrant, trust me!

Similarly with the venue, you can then select wedding suppliers who will bring your exact vision to life. Your favourite colours, favourite music and favourite style all rolled into one!

3. Trust the process and be prepared to have fun!

The more open you are with your photographer, the higher the likelihood is that you’ll have a fun wedding photography experience! And any wedding photographer worth their salt will put in the groundwork to understand you, and know what makes you tick ahead of the big day. They’ll scout at the best locations at your venue and make suggestions as to what will look good and what they think you’ll love. At the end of the day, all we want is for you to LOVE your wedding photos!
