What to Do When You Receive Your Wedding Gallery
So, your wedding gallery has arrived – YAY! You’re about to relive the best day of your lives through a collection of beautiful, heartfelt images that tell your story from start to finish. But now what? Don’t worry, I’ve got you!
Here’s exactly what to expect when your final wedding gallery is delivered, and a few tips on what to do next.

Make a Night of It
This is your moment. Pop open that bottle of leftover wedding fizz, grab a blanket, snuggle up on the sofa and dive into your gallery together. Your photos will usually arrive a couple of months after the big day – just enough time for the post-wedding blues to have settled in, and the perfect time to relive all that magic.
Be warned: there will be happy tears. Get those tissues ready.
Let Me Know What You Think!
I can’t lie – sending out a wedding gallery is one of the most nerve-wracking parts of my job. After months of planning, one unforgettable day, and weeks of careful editing, there’s always that tiny voice in my head saying, “What if they don’t like them?!”
So please, when you’ve had a chance to look through them, drop me a message and tell me what you think. Even just a quick “We LOVE them!” makes my day and tells me I’ve done justice to your story.
A Little Heads-Up: You Might Not Love Every Single Photo
This might sound strange coming from a wedding photographer – but it’s true. Not every single image will be your favourite, and that’s okay.
Your wedding day is made up of hundreds of little moments – some polished, some perfectly imperfect. I capture it all to tell the full story. There might be a shot where you’re mid-laugh, or a windblown veil moment – and while you might skip over it now, one day it could become one of your most cherished memories.
If you don’t love a certain photo? No problem. Just don’t print it or share it. But definitely keep it – you’ll be glad you did.
Why I Don’t Photoshop Your Body
This is a big one, and something I feel strongly about.
I don’t offer body retouching or Photoshop edits for a few reasons. First of all, it’s just not realistic – your gallery contains hundreds of images, and editing every one would take a long time and cost a lot more. But more importantly, I don’t believe in altering the way you look.
You are beautiful as you are. Your partner loves you just the way you are. And years from now, you’ll want to look back at your wedding day and see yourself – not a digitally altered version.
That said, if you’ve got a favourite side, or something you’re self-conscious about, let me know before the big day. I’ll always do my best to photograph you in a way that makes you feel confident and comfortable.
Share Your Wedding Photos With the World!
Once you’ve soaked it all in, go ahead and share the love!
Change your phone wallpaper, update your profile pics, post a photo carousel every day if you like – it’s your story to celebrate.
Just one little request: please don’t screenshot your photos before sharing them. Screenshots reduce the image quality, which doesn’t do your gorgeous photos (or my work!) any justice. Always use the high-res downloads from your gallery to keep things looking crisp and professional.

Back Up Your Wedding Photos (Please!)
This one’s super important – once you’ve got your gallery, download every single photo and back them up in two places:
- Physical backup – a hard drive or memory stick
- Online backup – like Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud
Yes, even back up the ones you’re not sure about right now. One day they’ll be treasured memories, and you’ll be so glad you saved them.
Remember, with the number of weddings I photograph, I can’t host your gallery online forever – and one day (far in the future!) I will want to retire. So please don’t forget to save your photos somewhere safe.
Final Thoughts
Your wedding gallery is more than just a set of images – it’s your story, your memories, your love. Take time to soak it all in, share it with pride, and keep it safe for future you.
If you’ve got any questions about your gallery, printing your photos, or creating an album, I’m always here to help!
