Camp Katur weddings is the ultimate spot to connect with nature and escape from the every day.
The air feels cleaner, the smell of the pine forest is divine, and it’s so quiet and peaceful. You might feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but it’s actually situated just off the A1 in North Yorkshire, just south of Bedale.
Get married in nature at Camp Katur Weddings
Admittedly, when Faith and Steven contacted me and told me of their plans to marry in the woodland in their bare feet in the middle of October, I was a little bit sceptical. I’m a big fan of nature myself, and outdoor ceremonies are always gorgeous. But I worried that it would be too cold, the ground would be too wet and that it would be very muddy! Storm Babet had been raging in the days leading up to the big day. But the pine forest did a great job of withholding the rainfall and keeping the forest floor relatively dry!
And this eco friendly nature lovers wedding was like something out of a fairytale! Camp Katur weddings really does have it all.
Gorgeous eco pods for the happy couple to get ready in. An epic dress and cape. The most incredible flower crowns. A beautiful thoughtful and personalised ceremony led by a family friend. A log chopping contest between the Bride & Groom. And petal confetti to send them on their way.
The beautiful backdrop of Camp Katur
I LOVE being in nature and this stunning forest was just the most gorgeous backdrop for the Group and couple photos. I always recommend that we do any group shots as soon as we can after the confetti, and then we’ll take a quiet 20 minutes for you to bask in the glow of that “just got married” feeling while I snap some beautiful moments of the two of you.
The Hay Barn
There is of course a beautiful inside space. The Hay Barn is where the wedding breakfast and party is held. And in true eco-style, the cheese cake was cut before the meal and then served as the meal. I’m a big fan of this as I can’t stand seeing good food go to waste!
Emotional speeches followed and then Bride and Groove brought all the party people to the dancefloor. An absolute corker of a wedding and I hope to return to Camp Katur weddings really soon!
