Wow, where to start with this beautiful beach themed wedding in Northumberland’s stunning Newton Hall ? Well first things first, if you’ve never been to Northumberland, why not? Secondly, it boasts MILES of the most beautiful sandy coastline in the UK. And third, if you catch Northumberland’s beaches on a sunny day, you could be on any of the worlds most beautiful beaches.

How did they fit all that into one day I hear you ask? Let’s dive in!
Why a beach themed wedding?
Ellen and Tim are both huge fans of the sea and surf and in fact, we did their pre-wedding shoot in the surf at Saltburn beach.
So it was a no-brainer for them that they’d get married near the sea and celebrate all of their favourite beaches in the world on their wedding day. They chose stunning blue dried flowers and crafted thoughtful table signage detailing their favourite of Northumberland’s beaches (and the whole world, actually). They opted for a late May wedding in the hope of having plenty of beach themed wedding photos. And instead of the traditional guest book, they had a surfboard for their loved ones to sign.

Oh go on then! Newton Hall is situated just north of Alnwick, with it’s very own hidden chapel for ceremonies, plentiful accommodation and the most gorgeous grounds.
Cool so where is the beach?
Yes I know, it is a beach wedding in Northumberland after all. The wind was too high to do the ceremony on the beach, though that is possible on a calm day!
The beach is High Newton by the sea. If you’re a fan of Northumberland’s beaches, you’ll have probably heard of Embleton Bay. Well, it’s just north of there and has the same stunning dunes and golden sands.
If you’re having a Newton Hall wedding, I highly recommend you take your photographer to the beach – it’s simply stunning!
Party time at this Newton Hall wedding
Tim and Ellen finished their fabulous beach wedding in Northumberland with some epic dancing. They’d self choreographed a spectacular first dance, commandeered some friends to set off the confetti canons at the end, which is a fabulous touch to any first dance if your venue will allow it!
