Why Candid Wedding Photos Matter (and why they’re the Heart of How I Work)
When you look back on your wedding day, what do you want to remember?
The big moments, sure – walking down the aisle, the vows, the confetti throw. But it’s the little things too, isn’t it? The way your best mate squeezes your hand just before you head to the ceremony. Your grandma having a boogie with your niece. The tear that sneaks down your partner’s cheek when they think no one’s watching.
That’s the magic of candid photography – and it’s exactly how I work.
What are candid wedding photos, anyway?
They’re the unscripted, unposed, real-life moments. The ones that just happen – full of emotion, joy, nerves, love and laughter. They’re not staged, and you’re not being told to look this way, or smile like that. It’s about capturing you just being you, surrounded by the people you love.
Why they matter so much
Weddings can fly by in a blur – but candid photos help you hold onto the little details. That belly laugh during the speeches. The proud look from your dad when you weren’t even looking. The way your guests came together, completely wrapped up in the day you’d planned.

My approach? Candid, relaxed and totally you
If you’re camera shy or just not into having your photo taken (hi, that’s most of my couples!) – you’re in the right place. My style is laid-back, unobtrusive and totally people-first. I won’t whisk you off for hours or bark awkward poses at you. Instead, I gently guide when needed, and otherwise just let the day unfold while I quietly snap away in the background.
I’m always watching for those gorgeous in-between moments – the real ones that you might not even notice until you see the photos.
