Becky and Will’s August wedding at East Keswick Village Hall was a true celebration of love, family, and fun. Their day was full of vibrant colours, personal touches, and an atmosphere that felt like one big joyful gathering of their nearest and dearest.
Fun wedding photography
Like most of my couples, Becky and Will told me they wanted photographic memories that would be vibrant, fun, and full of life! I love to capture those spontaneous, joy-filled moments that really show the personalities and connections of my couples. My style is all about celebrating real, unfiltered emotions, with a focus on the laughter, love, and the little details that make each of the weddings I photograph so unique. I think I nailed it?
The perfect backdrop for laid back couples
Opting for an outdoor ceremony, the couple exchanged vows surrounded by loved ones seated on hay bales. A close friend officiated, adding a personal touch and lots of humour that made the ceremony feel even more special. It was relaxed, intimate, and exactly what Becky and Will had envisioned.
Inside the village hall, the celebrations continued with thoughtful details that showcased their creativity and personalities. From a football-themed seating plan inspired by Leeds United and West Ham, the decor reflected their shared passions and unique style. Guests loved finding their seats in a playful nod to the couple’s favourite footballing icons.
Hire a wedding planner
One of the keys to the day’s success was their decision to hire a wedding planner. While village hall weddings are wonderfully flexible and budget-friendly, they often require a lot of coordination. A planner can help bring your vision to life, handling everything from setup and timelines to liaising with suppliers. For Becky and Will, this meant they could fully immerse themselves in their day without worrying about logistics.
Planners are especially helpful for DIY weddings, where there’s no on-site coordinator. They ensure nothing is overlooked—like managing rentals, keeping everything running on time, and solving any unexpected hiccups. Becky and Will’s planner Steph from SB events was instrumental in creating a stress-free experience, allowing them to enjoy the relaxed vibe they wanted without compromise.
Other personal touches
A family friend made the garden games and crisp wall for the couple, and what outdoorsy wedding would be complete without a tug of war between the two sides of the family? This one didn’t last long with the Bride’s family taking an easy victory.
Their wedding was a colourful, love-filled celebration, and a perfect example of how thoughtful planning and the right support can make a DIY wedding truly unforgettable.
