And just like driving a car, it’s all totally worth it! It’s just that in this instance the endgame is sharper images, no more over exposed pics, understanding how to use light and composition, heck you’ll even start to have loads of FUN trying! There’ll be no more shying away from bright sunshine and dark shadows – just the sheer joy of learning how to use them!

Section two – Shooting in manual – we’ll cover the exposure triangle, how to control light, exposure and colour temperature

Section five – Getting creative with different types of photography

Section six – From camera to computer – introduction to editing your pics and guidance on printing

I can’t promise there won’t be ANY nerdy camera jargon, but what I do promise is that I’ll break it down into bite sized chunks that you can understand. I’m not particularly technical myself, but I know what I need to know to take a damn good photo

Hi I’m Hannah, professional portrait photographer and proud Mum of two kids and a black Labrador. I’ve taken photos of everything and everyone my whole life and in April 2017 after the birth of my second child had a lightbulb moment that I could turn my passion into a business. The only problem was…I didn’t own, or know how to use a big camera! I went ahead and bought one, and quickly realised that I’d need more than a user manual to understand how to use it. I invested in a camera course and learned lots through trial, error and talking to other photographers. 6 months later, I took my first pai family booking and 6 months after that I shot my first wedding. In January 2020 I resigned from my day job and became a full time photographer – and yes, this turned out to be right in the middle of a global pandemic! I’ve never regretted my decision and I’m really passionate about  my photography and helping others get their big camera off auto. It simply is not true that the better the camera, the better the picture. It’s the photographer who makes the picture. Always.
