Sophie and Jack’s wedding at Sandburn Hall fell on one of the hotter days during the beautiful heatwave in the Summer of 2018. Sandburn Hall is a unique venue set on a golf course on the outskirts of York, surrounded by woodland and lakes. With temperatures soaring to 32 degrees that day, and in those surroundings, we felt like we could have been abroad!
The local Griffon Forest Lodges provided the perfect place for the Bridal Party and the Groomsmen to get ready before the ceremony, with minimal risk of bumping into each other. All gorgeous wooden cabins in secluded woodland, with hot tubs – I think I wouldn’t mind another trip back there sometime!
The venue was decorated in gorgeously pretty pastels with a vintage theme (how lush are the Bridesmaids dresses by the way?) and an emotional ceremony took place in front of Sophie & Jack’s friends and family.
The stunning gardens provided a spot of welcome shade and an excellent backdrop for photographs. (Plus it became a safe haven for the kids to let off some steam later on!)
After the wedding breakfast and as the temperature was cooling slightly, the newlyweds and I jumped into a golf buggy and headed for some secluded woodland for a few more Bride and Groom pics away from the main wedding party.
Then back to the venue for the evening party – the dance floor was a busy place!
Massive THANK YOU to Sophie and Jack for entrusting me with capturing your big day – I had the best fun spending the day in the sunshine with you, all your guests and my camera! xxx
